About us

For over 35 years, LaSalle Brokerage AG has supported commercial clients from Switzerland and across Europe in managing price risk (hedging) on international futures exchanges through a small, highly specialised team – with a particular focus on the energy and agricultural markets.

As a traditional introducing broker, we strictly separate service from capital. We focus exclusively on the execution of client orders and do not provide any form of investment advice or asset management. At no point do we have direct access to client funds.

To ensure secure execution and clearing, we work with established, well-capitalised and exchange-regulated US brokerage firms. Client accounts are held directly with these clearing partners, ensuring maximum transparency and financial security.

Walter Schneider began his career in international grain trading and subsequently spent several years working as a futures broker for various US investment banks – most recently as Head of the Futures division for Drexel Burnham Lambert in Switzerland. In 1990, he founded LaSalle Brokerage AG, a specialised introducing broker focused on price risk management.

After many years in the Precious Metals and Industrial Metals division of the former Swiss Bank Corporation, where he gained extensive experience in metals trading and servicing institutional clients, Michael Peyer joined LaSalle Brokerage in 1998. Since then, he has been active in international commodity brokerage, with a particular focus on trading grains, oilseeds, crude oil, and energy products.

From 2013 to June 2025, Steffen Schneider held various positions at UBS AG. He began his career in back-office functions, including serving as Deputy Team Leader. In 2018, he transitioned into Wealth Management Switzerland, where he worked until June 2025 as an Active Advisor, serving Private Wealth clients, Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (UHNW), and Global Family Offices (GFO). In this role, he covered a broad range of asset classes, including foreign exchange, equities, fixed income, funds, hedge funds, private markets, commodities, as well as structured products and derivatives (ETD/OTC/futures).
